Back to regular programming…..
Most of us are driven by Greed or Fear, Yes! Let me explain…
Greed
Greed to be… a better person, wealthy, most spiritual, most loving, award-winning, a better career, best drip etc.
The efficacy of greed comes from a form of hope, where the expected reward far exceeds the expected time and cost to be invested. (This is why technology has evolved).
Greed is basically the want for more.
Fear
Fear of… being alone, becoming poor (this is my wife’s greatest fear), career suicide, job loss, relationship loss etc.
Fear is a powerful motivator. It’s a deep inherent characteristic in humans that triggers us to avoid potentially dangerous stimuli or loss.
The fear of losing something – a job, home, comfort, lifestyle, the respect of fellow co-workers and a boss – any or all of these could be great drivers to motivate one to excel or at least meet expectations.
Greed and Fear are good? Yes!….
Greed and Fear are two very powerful emotions that, when used properly, drive you (people) to take action.
There is nothing wrong in having these as Humans exist and do their greatest of work in Greed or Fear. Business Leaders have Greed and Fear. Generals that won wars have Greed and Fear. No one is an exception.
I believe the end goal is that we all, individually, find the perfect balance of each motivator in order to bring out the best in ourselves. The important thing is to be fully aware and not live in false assumptions. Stop denying it - you are greedy and fearful per time.
How you use and dwell on these emotions will determine if you succeed or not.
