Take the initiative
Chronicles of an Afropreneur
Dear ,
Today I had an issue with my 'trusted' mason because while doing the work I paid him for, he invariably caused me some discomfort because he didn't think about the implications of some his actions. He lacked 'initiative'.
I was so upset and vented out on Twitter. Today's mail will be a series of screenshots and messages, please bear with me, there are gems below.
I asked on Twitter -
I got some responses (all of which I cannot share) -
I then responded with this -
And then this conversation happened -
A few gave solutions to the question I posed -
Eventually, someone led me to a thread published by Sam Hart that correctly mirrored my thoughts on "taking initiative". I will try to share some screenshot but it'll be better to read it from here - https://twitter.com/hartng/status/1336194287105662983
I will end with this question - are you taking initiative (in your career, workplace, business, relationship, etc.)?
Take time to self reflect on this question and answer honestly. If the answer is No, then you have to get to work!
Initiative leads to excellence, excellence leads to recognisable value!
Keep Grinding,
