Jack of all trade, master of none? Not true!
Chronicles of an Afropreneur
Dear ,
I'm sure you all have heard the saying "Jack of all trades, master of none". What they don't tell you is that this saying is incomplete.
The complete words are -
"A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one"
As a founder and business leader, you are expected to specialise and be a subject matter expert. O yes, very good advice.
But as you grow in your career, and in business, it is important to know a bit of 'everything' in relation to your business and field.
You can employ competent hands but never delegate the learning of new technologies and business mechanisms vital for your business to others. Because to compete, you need to make educated decisions that are right for your business or a particular field.
On an unrelated note, Ingressive Capital is holding a session on "Raising Capital" in collaboration with Lowenstein Sandler, a US law firm representing titans in various industries.
The session holds on Wednesday, 2nd Dec, at 6 pm.
