Delegation... you cannot do it all on your own
I was compiling my tasks for the week (I do this every Sunday night to help me plan ahead appropriately) and began to feel overwhelmed with the sheer amount of things I needed to achieve.
It then dawned on me that I was letting myself handle mundane and less important tasks that I could have delegated to someone else or a 3rd party.
As startup founders and in the early stage of business, we often make the mistake of doing everything ourselves because we are driving our vision and feel that no one sees it like we do. At the inital stage, this is beneficial in ensuring the product/service stays true to the vision. But as the company grows and responsibilities increase, you will have to learn to let go and allow others be "in charge".
Knowing how, when and what to delegate is very important if you are to build a sustainable business.
Here are some few tips on how to delegate right:
Hire right or empower people/staff.
Letting go is not losing control, learn to trust your staff.
Clearly communicate the goals and outcomes
Track the deliverables
Don't become lazy and delegate yourself out of your company.
Keep Grinding,
